Success Story: WACKER & Nordmann Partnership
Reliability, a strong focus on service, and close collaboration between customer service, logistics, and sales characterize the partnership between WACKER and Nordmann in Europe. Since the strategic partnership in the field of silicone elastomers began in April 2025, Germany has become a key hub within the European network. In this edition of our interview series, we focus on the topic of supply chain excellence and the question of how to deliver reliably and create customer-oriented solutions even under time pressure and in highly complex situations.
In our interview series, colleagues from various countries share their experiences, market observations, and shared successes. After featuring locations in France, Italy, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Austria, and the United Kingdom, we now turn our attention to Germany. Nordmann News spoke with Alexander Lieder, Business Manager for Operational Logistics & Warehousing, as well as Andrea Hass and Sven Sauer from the Silicone Elastomers Customer Service team at Nordmann Germany.

1. Andrea, how complex is the interplay between inventory management, delivery times, and customer requirements in day-to-day business?
Andrea: We juggle quite complex factors on a daily basis. To illustrate: Our German Nordmann team manages around 1,200 items in approximately 100 different packaging units. On top of that, there are 30 to 40 different delivery times, around 50 minimum order quantities, and various requirements for storage, transportation, and documentation. Everything is included, from standard products to hazardous materials. We also have to keep track of various best-by dates.
At the same time, our customers expect high availability, quick response times, and maximum reliability. This requires precise planning throughout the entire supply chain. Thanks to well-established processes and the trusting collaboration between WACKER and Nordmann, we are able to successfully manage this complexity day in and day out.
Germany has the largest inventory within our country organization. This allows us to respond flexibly to customer requirements and, when necessary, also support other countries within the European network.
Our motto is always: “Distribution at its best.”
2. Alex, Andrea has already covered a lot regarding logistics—what would you like to add about your day-to-day collaboration with WACKER?
Alex: What I particularly appreciate is the high quality of our collaboration with WACKER. The goods arrive professionally packaged, secured, and accompanied by all the necessary documentation. The quantities delivered also reliably match our orders. This enables efficient incoming goods inspection and rapid processing in the warehouse.
An important milestone in our partnership was the initial stocking of our Düsseldorf warehouse with WACKER products last spring. The photo below captures this special moment: rows of drums and containers filled the warehouse, marking the beginning of a partnership that to this day stands for reliability, on-time delivery, and well-coordinated processes. It still gives me goosebumps.

3. Sven, which aspect is particularly relevant for your customers?
Sven: Many applications in the field of silicone elastomers are based on two-component systems. The A and B components must be precisely matched and often arrive at the customer’s site at the same time.
Behind the scenes, this requires precise coordination between Customer Service, the warehouse, logistics, and WACKER. Through this collaboration, we’re able to deliver both components reliably and on time. It’s precisely this delivery reliability that’s a key success factor for many customers.
Even in time-sensitive situations, we work with WACKER to find a quick and pragmatic solution for the customer. We take care of the situation and stay on top of it until we’ve found a solution. It’s precisely this willingness to go the extra mile that makes the difference for us.
What’s also of great importance here is that every single customer counts and is important. It doesn’t matter whether someone orders one kilogram, 20 kilograms, or one metric ton of material. Every customer receives the same attention, appreciation, and support.
What drives our daily work can be summarized as follows:
“A strong partnership isn’t evident when everything goes according to plan, but rather when people are willing to go the extra mile. Together with WACKER, we combine delivery reliability, customer service, and a genuine focus on solutions. That’s how we create added value for our customers every single day.”
Thank you very much, Alex, Andrea, and Sven, for the interview.
