Success Story: WACKER & Nordmann Partnership

Interview series launch – Part 1: Focus on France

April 2025 saw the launch of the exclusive sales partnership between Nordmann and WACKER in the field of silicone elastomers. A lot has happened since then – across Europe. In a new series of interviews, we talk to colleagues from different countries about their experiences, successes, and market observations. We start with France.

Nordmann News spoke with Sandrine Aribo, Business Manager Elastomers & Additives, Silicones at Nordmann France, about the first seven months of the collaboration and the response in the market.

Question 1: Sandrine, what triggered the new partnership with WACKER in the field of silicone elastomers?

Sandrine: The partnership was launched on April 1, 2025. The aim was to combine the strengths of both companies: WACKER as a leading global manufacturer of specialty chemicals and Nordmann as an established distributor with in-depth market knowledge and technical expertise.

The collaboration is based on a shared commitment to providing customers in Europe with high-quality silicone elastomers and excellent service. Together, we want to set new standards.

Question 2: And how does the collaboration feel after seven months?

Sandrine: After six months, I can only say that the partnership has already proven to be a complete success. We have become the exclusive source for selected WACKER products, including high-consistency rubber, liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and additives, which we distribute under the ELASTOSIL®, POWERSIL® and SILPURAN® brands.

The market response has been extremely positive: our customers appreciate the high product quality as well as the technical advice and quick response times of both teams.

Question 3: What developments do you currently see in the French market for silicone elastomers – and how does the partnership with WACKER help to successfully serve this market?

Sandrine: The French market for silicone elastomers is currently particularly dynamic – especially in the areas of electromobility, textile coating and sustainability. We are seeing growing demand for specialized solutions that combine top technical performance with environmental considerations.

Thanks to our partnership with WACKER, we can meet this demand in a targeted manner. Currently in high demand are:

  • High-consistency rubbers (HCR) such as ELASTOSIL® R 531, which are characterized by high temperature resistance and mechanical strength – ideal for applications in the e-mobility sector.
  • Liquid silicone rubbers (LSR) such as ELASTOSIL® LR 6240 or 6250F, a resource-saving solution with a focus on sustainability.
  • Additives such as POWERSIL® 1900, which score highly in terms of energy transition and are used in demanding technical applications, such as energy distribution.

Our customers appreciate not only the quality of these products, but also the combination of technical advice, short delivery routes and close cooperation between Nordmann and WACKER. This combination enables us to implement new projects efficiently and bring innovations to market quickly. The feedback shows that this partnership is in tune with the spirit of the times.

« C’est le début d’une belle aventure – avec un fort potentiel d’innovation et de croissance. »

“This is the beginning of a wonderful adventure—with strong potential for innovation and growth.”

Thank you very much, Sandrine, for the interview.
