PURday 2026: PURe Expertise drives innovation and networking
Two days full of expertise and inspiration
Hosted at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Frankfurt, the two-day event offered a dynamic program of technical presentations, expert discussions, and valuable networking opportunities. From the outset, it became clear how diverse and forward-looking the polyurethane sector has become—spanning bio-based raw materials, advanced formulations, and high-performance applications.

Highlights of the first day included, among others:
- Insights into bio-based Susterra® in high-performance PU resins from Primient
- Latest developments in amine curing agents from Albemarle
- New caprolactone-based CAPA® polyols for CASE applications from Ingevity
- Halogen-free flame-retardant solutions from Nordmann
A particular highlight was the keynote by Dr. Orell Mielke, who explored the influence of AI on our thinking and work—an exciting shift in perspective that looked beyond the world of chemistry.
The day concluded with an evening event overlooking the Frankfurt skyline providing an ideal setting for deep conversations and relationship building.
Innovation and Sustainability Take Center Stage on Day 2
The second day focused on further technological developments and sustainable approaches:
- Next-generation high-performance polyester polyols from Elachem
- Sustainability strategies at BorsodChem
- New catalyst solutions for CASE applications from Momentive
- Specialty PU solutions for demanding applications from ERA Polymers
Across all presentations, one message stood out clearly: the future of polyurethane lies in sustainable, high-performance, and tailored solutions that meet increasingly complex market demands.
Valuable exchange with partners and customers
Beyond the presentations, direct dialogue was a central element of PURday 2026. Participants took the opportunity to ask questions, discuss individual challenges, and engage in in-depth discussions with the experts on site.
Together, Nordmann and its partners—Albemarle, BorsodChem, Elachem, ERA Polymers, Ingevity, Momentive, and Primient—provided customers with a comprehensive overview of current trends and technologies across the PU value chain.

Conclusion: PURe Expertise in Action
PURday 2026 has once again demonstrated how important exchange, partnership, and knowledge transfer are for the continued development of the polyurethane industry. The combination of in-depth technical presentations, interdisciplinary insights, and personal networking made the event a resounding success.
We would like to thank all participants and partners for two inspiring days and are already looking forward to the next PURday.
