50 years of partnership: Nordmann & Daikin – a success story with a future

Since 1975, Nordmann and Daikin have enjoyed a close partnership based on mutual trust, technical excellence, and innovative strength. What began with initial contact via the Japanese embassy in Bonn and a trip to Japan by Edgar E. Nordmann has developed over five decades into one of the most reliable partnerships in fluorine chemistry.

Daikin Industries, founded in 1924, is considered a pioneer in the research and production of fluorine chemicals. Today, the company is one of the world's leading manufacturers in this field. With production sites in Yodogawa and Kashima (JP), Changshu (CN), Decatur (US), Lyon (FR), and an innovation center in Dortmund, Daikin offers an impressive global presence and technical redundancy.

The founding of Daikin Chemical Europe in 1992 and the start of European production in Lyon in 2004 were milestones for the company's operations in Europe.

Technology meets responsibility

Daikin Chemicals now offers the world's most comprehensive portfolio of fluoroelastomers, including FKM copolymers and terpolymers for bisphenol and peroxide vulcanization, low-temperature FKM (LT), perfluoroelastomers (FFKM), BRE types with high base resistance, and F-TPV with low permeation and high flexibility.

Environmental considerations are also a high priority: with the development of fluorosurfactant-free grades, Daikin demonstrates that sustainability and high performance are not mutually exclusive.
