Nordmann supplying new PTFE micropowders from Heroflon - Samples now available
As of June 1, 2020, Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1000 will prohibit the sale of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and its salts in concentrations above 25 ppb. This will also apply to PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) micropowders.
Although the Italian manufacturer did not previously use PFOA-containing raw materials to produce its highly specialized PTFE micropowders, PFOA was nonetheless a by-product of the production process. Heroflon has therefore adjusted its manufacturing processes in order to ensure compliance with the new EU guidelines. As a result of these changes, the product range of the sustainability-oriented Nordmann partner now includes a selection of PTFE micropowders that already meet the new requirements.

Policy-compliant PTFE micropowder
Heroflon’s Herolub PTFE micropowders are used as additives to improve the properties of elastomers, coatings, printing inks and lubricants.
The new grades of Herolub are now available in granular form. While these have not been changed, customers are still kindly reminded to carry out their own product tests with the new materials.
Samples can be requested from the Nordmann team at any time.
