Nordmann at Fi Europe 2026: Innovative Concepts for Functional Food and Clean Label
Nordmann demonstrates how these approaches can be translated into market-ready products at its tasting bar on the company’s booth. There, the company presents three inspiring concepts that illustrate how selected raw materials can be combined to create modern formulations with real added value. The applications tap into current consumer trends such as Plant-Based/Vegan, High Protein, Fiber Maxxing, and Low in Sugars, combining them with indulgent taste and a pleasant texture.

“From a creamy vegan spread with plant-based proteins and high in prebiotic fibre to a vegan batter and a vegan, protein- and fibre-rich shake, all low in sugars, our concepts showcase the versatility of innovative ingredient solutions,” explains Sabrina Erb, Application Specialist Food & Health Care at Nordmann Germany.
The concepts were developed at Nordmann’s newly opened Life Sciences Lab in Hamburg. There, the company brings together its expertise in the Food, Health Care, and Personal Care sectors under one roof. In collaboration with customers and suppliers, the company develops innovative formulations, market-oriented product concepts, and application-oriented solutions that specifically address current consumer needs.
Co-exhibitor Ulrick+Short is also presenting solutions for the trending topics of Fiber Maxxing, High Protein, and Low in Sugars. A particular highlight is the company’s innovative Clean Label solutions, which open up new possibilities for manufacturers to create natural recipes, shorter ingredient lists, and improved functionality. Another exciting innovation is the recent launch of Fazenda™ Lieto, a sunflower seed flour that combines Clean Label credentials with excellent functionality and nutritional value. Visitors can experience firsthand just how versatile this ingredient is right at the booth through various tasting concepts, where Fazenda™ Lieto is featured as a key ingredient.
