Wanhua Chemical: innovative, sustainable and diverse
New additions to the portfolio include Wanelite® PEBA and PCDL-based TPU formulations.
Special attention is paid to sustainable solutions, including recycled polycarbonate (PC) and the sustainable PMMA product range ACRYPLAS®ReGen. But also the bio-based TPU grades, which are manufactured in a resource-saving manner while offering high performance. These materials are ideally suited to the main theme of the upcoming K 2025 trade fair, which will take place from October 8 to 15, 2025, in Düsseldorf:

Wanthane® TPU
Wanthane® TPU is a high-performance product known for its excellent flexibility, durability, and abrasion resistance. Particularly noteworthy is its suitability for flame retardant applications, as Wanthane® TPU can be used to produce special formulations that reduce flammability and increase safety. Due to these properties, Wanthane® TPU is often used in critical areas such as the electronics, automotive, and construction industries, where strict fire safety requirements must be met.
The latest addition to Wanhua's portfolio in this area is Wanthane® polycarbonate-based TPUs (PCDL).
Wanhua's PCDL-based TPU formulations combine the advantages of polyester and polyether technologies in a single material, offering an exceptional combination of:
- High temperature resistance
- Excellent resistance to oil, acids, and alkalis
- Outstanding hydrolysis resistance
- Crystal-clear transparency
A particular advantage is that these solutions overcome the typical limitations of conventional polycarbonate TPUs at low temperatures, opening up new possibilities for demanding applications.

Typical areas of application are in the cable industry, drive belts and timing belts, animal ear tags, oil pipes and hoses, and sealing technology.
Focus on sustainability: bio-based TPU
As part of its commitment to greater sustainability, Wanhua offers innovative plastics based on renewable raw materials. An outstanding example is WANTHANE® WHT-ECO – a bio-based TPU with a bio content of up to 75% that also meets the highest performance requirements.
Available on a polyester or polyether basis, WANTHANE® WHT-ECO impresses with:
- Excellent flexibility
- High abrasion resistance
- Short cycle times
- Excellent mechanical properties
- Outstanding hydrolysis resistance
With a hardness range from 70 ShA to 64 ShD, the material is suitable for a wide range of applications. Compared to conventional petroleum-based TPUs, these bio-based TPUs reduce the CO₂ footprint by 33% and enable energy savings of up to 27%.
Clarnate® PC and Recycled PC
Clarnate® PC is a high-performance polycarbonate that impresses with its outstanding transparency, impact resistance, and heat resistance. Ideally suited for demanding applications in the automotive, electronics, and optical industries, Clarnate® offers versatile and high-performance solutions.
In addition, Waneco® is an innovative product line of mechanically and chemically recycled PC, for example from drinking water containers, sheets, automotive headlights, and CDs. By using recycled PC, Waneco® contributes to reducing the CO² footprint, plastic waste, and conserving natural resources. Waneco® is ideal for a wide range of applications, from electronic housings and LED lights to automotive parts.
The mechanical properties of Waneco® products are very close to those of Clarnate® products and are characterized by good transparency. PCR contents of up to 100% can be achieved, which are certified according to both UL 2809 and the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and thus meet the highest sustainability criteria.
Wanelite® PEBA
Wanelite® PEBA is another new development from Wanhua. This polyamide-12 elastomer impresses with its low density, low water absorption compared to other polyamides, easy processing, and excellent flexibility at low temperatures. Wanhua is the second supplier worldwide to combine the entire PEBA production chain under one roof.
Wansuper® POE
Wansuper® POE offers an excellent combination of elasticity, flexibility, and chemical resistance. It is ideal for applications in various industries, such as the automotive (as an impact modifier), solar, packaging, and electronics industries. Thanks to their high tensile strength, weather and temperature resistance, POE products are also often used in demanding applications that require reliable performance and durability.

WanBlend®
WanBlend® is a versatile series of technical PC compounds for applications in electronics, automotive, household appliances, and lighting. The flame-retardant PC series complies with UL94 V-0 (1.5 mm and 3.0 mm) and offers halogen-free flame retardancy in transparent and opaque colors. The PC/GF series impresses with high rigidity and dimensional stability, while the PC/ABS series is particularly versatile with variants such as flame retardant, electroplateable, or high gloss, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Acryplas® PMMA is a high-quality, transparent plastic that is often used as a substitute for glass. It impresses with its excellent light transmission and weather resistance. This makes it ideal for applications in the construction and automotive industries. PMMA is also characterized by its high scratch resistance and UV stability.
ACRYPLAS®ReGen
The sustainable PMMA product range ACRYPLAS®ReGen offers high-quality resin solutions with PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) and PIR (Post-Industrial Recycled) content. Reliable Quality and stable supply can be ensured.
Recycling circulation channels are controllable and the sources of the materials can be traced. In addition, ACRYPLAS®ReGen actively contributes to reducing the carbon footprint and complies with international environmental standards such as ISO 14067:2018 and the WBCSD guidelines.
