Optical innovation for the future of lighting
Diversity in form and function
TECHPOLYMERTM consists of cross-linked acrylic or styrene polymers and is available in a wide range of particle diameters (1.5 µm to 200 µm). The particles are either poly-disperse or mono-disperse and can take on different shapes – from spherical to hollow to biconvex. The refractive index ranges from 1.49 to 1.59, and heat resistance ranges from 250°C to over 300°C for highly resistant variants.

These properties enable the following functions:
- Light refraction for uniform light distribution
- Low permittivity for better electrical insulation
- Cavity structure for weight reduction
- Stress relaxation to minimize tension in the plastic

Areas of application
TECHPOLYMERTM is used in:
- LED covers
- Plastic films and sheets for displays
- Partition walls
- Sheets for construction
- Exterior and interior lighting in the automotive sector
- Sensor components
Particularly noteworthy is its use in light-scattering plastics such as acrylic and polycarbonate. Here, TECHPOLYMERTM serves as a diffusion agent that ensures uniform light distribution.
Market response and customer feedback
Customers particularly appreciate the stability of the particle size distribution and the possibility of customization.
In addition, the combination of technical performance and sustainability strikes a chord with the spirit of the times – especially in markets with a growing demand for environmentally friendly solutions.
