Interview with Jost E. Laumeyer

Nordmann News spoke with Jost E. Laumeyer, Global Sales Director Plastics at Nordmann & Managing Director of Nordmann Netherlands, about K 2025 — the world's leading trade fair for the plastics industry — as well as current market developments and new partnerships.
Jost, what is your motto for the trade fair?

Jost: Under the motto “Innovative Raw Materials for Sustainable Growth,” we will be presenting sustainable solutions for a future-oriented plastics industry at K 2025.

For me, the circular economy is one of the central challenges and opportunities of our time. As an international distribution company, we play a key role in the supply chain and, together with our business partners, are driving forward sustainable transformation in the industry. Whether it's legal requirements or the promotion of recycled and bio-based raw materials, we focus on innovative solutions that help our customers achieve their sustainability goals while remaining competitive.

What can visitors expect at the Nordmann booth?

Jost: We are very pleased to be represented at the trade fair together with our co-exhibitors and partners Honeywell, Jiangsu Liside New Material (Liside), MARFRAN, and PMC Organometallix. In addition, numerous colleagues from our international Nordmann locations will also be there. This diversity enables us to provide visitors with comprehensive advice and present individual solutions for a wide range of requirements. Personal interaction at the booth is a central part of the trade fair for us – we look forward to many exciting conversations!

Jost, Nordmann is constantly evolving – which new partners are you currently working with?

Jost: We are continuously expanding our international network and focusing on strategic partnerships with innovative suppliers:

For example, Jiangsu Liside New Material (Liside) specializes in the development and manufacture of phosphorus-based flame retardants and has been our new partner for Europe, including Turkey, since the summer.

Another milestone is our exclusive distribution partnership with Huber Advanced Materials (HAM) in the field of flame retardants, which will come into effect in an expanded form from January next year. In the future, we will be the sole distributor of aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide for all applications in the DACH countries, the Nordic countries, and Eastern Europe. This partnership enables us to offer a broad portfolio of flame retardant solutions specifically for various industry segments such as plastics, elastomers, and CASE applications, and to further expand our market presence in Europe.

In addition, we have expanded our long-standing partnership with the Wanhua Chemical Group. In addition to TPU products, we now also distribute PMMA – a further step toward strengthening our portfolio in the field of engineering thermoplastics.

The momentum in our partnerships shows that we are on track and consistently driving forward our future-oriented projects.

Thank you very much for talking to us, Jost.
