Refreshing sleep without anxiety

At the next 2022 Vitafoods Europe, long-standing Nordmann partner Monteloeder will be presenting a new natural ingredient for improving sleep quality and reducing anxiety: relaxplx.

The new product is a proprietary botanical ingredient that the Spanish company recently added to its broad range of plant extracts.

All-natural: lemon verbena extract

relaxplx is based on Lippia citriodora – commonly known as lemon verbena – which is a botanical ingredient rich in phenylpropanioids (verbascoside) and flavonoids, traditionally consumed in tea form to promote sleep and relaxation. The beneficial effects of lemon verbena extract on insomnia and anxiety symptoms have been proven in clinical trials as well as animal-based studies.

Anxiety relief and restful sleep

relaxplx increases neuron sensitivity to GABA by interacting with the same binding site as benzodiazepines. relaxplx also boosts levels of the neurotransmitters serotonin, norepinephrine (noradrenaline) and dopamine.

Consuming relaxplx at a dosage level of 400mg has been shown to reduce anxiety, decrease levels of the stress hormone cortisol and lower PSS anxiety scores. Research findings also show improved sleep quality due to fewer sleep disturbances and more time spent in deep sleep, as well as a tendency to experience more phases of REM.

As opposed to GABA and chamomile, no adverse reactions to relaxplx have been reported. Its effects are also still noticeable up to a month after discontinuing use.

Diverse formulations from sustainably grown raw materials

The lemon verbena sourced by Monteloeder is grown in specifically delineated areas in Paraguay and delivers consistently high product quality and active ingredient content. Each batch can be traced back to its harvest area. Both cultivation and harvesting are carried out and monitored according to strict sustainability measures.

relaxplx is supplied in powder form and is soluble in aqueous solutions with 2 mg/ml water. It can be formulated into tablets, capsules and ready-to-drink supplements.

Distributed in Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Switzerland.
