Energetic change: TotalEnergies

On track for lower-emissions and a sustainable future: TotalEnergies aims to be one of the world’s top five players in the renewable energy industry by 2030 and to reduce its direct emissions to net zero by 2050. “We want to play an active role in shaping the transition to sustainable energy,” says Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies. The new strategy change was decided on by shareholders and the company’s management team at the Annual General Meeting this past May. From oil to natural gas, electricity, hydrogen, biomass, wind and solar power, TotalEnergies is now set to become a broad-based power company focused on generating and supplying affordable clean energy.
RECYCLING COMPOUNDS
TotalEnergies is also active in the circular economy sector. To meet the growing market demand for high-performing recyclates, the production capacity of its subsidiary Synova has been doubled to 40,000 metric tons of recycled polypropylene per year. Today, the company’s polypropylene- and polyethylene-based Circular Compounds® already feature 50 % recycled content but perform similarly to virgin materials, satisfying the high quality standards of automotive manufacturers and suppliers. By 2030, 30 % of the volume of polymers produced and processed by the company are to consist of recycled polymers.
