Compelling properties

The special technology used to protect Cell Biotech’s LAB2PRO™ lactic acid bacteria allows them to improve vitamin absorption in the colon.
By ensuring that a high number of colony-forming units (CFU) of bacteria survive transit through gastric acids and bile in the digestive tract, LAB2PRO™ technology allows the live microorganisms to reach the gut safely, where they can multiply and create an environment that is conducive to the absorption of vitamins and other important nutrients.
Vitamins are also included in order to support the “beauty from within” aim of the LAB2PRO™ Beauty Plus concept in the following ways:

• Vitamin C supports collagen formation for normal skin function
• Vitamin E helps protect cells from oxidative stress
• Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal skin health

Using the company’s own in-house next-generation
sequencing (NGS) analytics, the following six
bacterial strains were selected by Cell Biotech after
being evaluated for their antioxidant enzyme
content:

• LP3 Lactobacillus plantarum
• LC5 Lactobacillus casei
• LR5 Lactobacillus rhamnosus
• BL3 Bifidobacterium lactis
• SL4 Pediacoccus pentosaseus
• LA 1 Lactobacillus acidophilus

The results were compelling: each strain included in the formulation features a variety of antioxidant enzymes, which in turn play an important role in protecting the skin and body from oxidative stresses.

A clinical study also showed that four of the bacterial strains contained in Cell Biotech’s LAB2PRO™ Beauty Plus had beneficial effects on skin texture and were able to alleviate symptoms of atopic dermatitis. Each of these strains has now been patented for use.
All these clinical research studies have shown as well that the LAB2PRO™ Beauty Plus LAB strains are safe and suitable for use in nutritional supplements.

The positive effects that the bacterial strains chosen for the LAB2PRO™ Beauty Plus concept have been shown to have on skin are complemented by the addition of hyaluronic acid and collagen – giving more support to the promise of providing end consumers with “beauty from within”.

Cell Biotech’s LAB2PRO™ Beauty Plus concept formulation is already available for market launch in small quantities as a finished private-label product in stick packs or capsule form.
