Focus on recycled plastics

At the end of 2019, French oil company and chemicals manufacturer Total announced its breakthrough ambition for environmental protection: upping its annual production of recycled materials to 30% by 2030, amounting to one million tons of recycled plastic per year.

In support of this commitment, Nordmann partner Total is now offering a broad portfolio of Circular Compounds® in both rHDPE and rPP. Total Circular Compounds® always contain at least 50% PCR (post-consumer recycled plastic) from household waste collected in Western European countries but perform like virgin materials, thus providing sustainable solutions for a wider range of applications.

Flagship product rPE6314 offers great quality and savings potential

rPE6314 high-density polyethylene (HDPE) is the flagship grade of Total Circular compounds® targeting blow-molding applications (bottles and medium-sized containers for solids and liquids) and film applications.

Key features:

  • Consistent product quality
  • Optimized processing
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Mechanical properties equivalent to virgin HDPE
  • Natural color
  • Low odor

This product not only promotes circularity in the packaging industry but also helps to reduce the environmental footprint of final products. Specifically, rPE6314 allows for the following gains (measured from cradle to gate):

  • 24% fewer CO2 emissions
  • 20% less process energy demand
  • 47% less water consumption

Great selection

Total has more than 10 grades of rPP that Nordmann distributes. These cover a wide range of applications, from blow-molding to injection molding and thermoforming. Paving the way to a more circular economy, Total’s goal is to increase market access to recycled plastics by providing high-quality products.
