Focus on natural beauty

Today’s consumers are continuing to demand more sustainable products, and Lubrizol’s partnerships with CP Kelco and Corbion allow the company to supply innovative solutions for the cosmetics industry.
Natural rheological additives
Lubrizol’s new Arbalon™ R-50 cellulose liquid (INCI: Glycerin, Cellulose, Cellulose Gum) is a cellulose gum with an RCI of 0.95 that can be processed
at cold temperatures. It generates a yield point in surfactant systems at an application concentration of 2%. Kelco-Care™ diutan gum (INCI: Sphingomonas Ferment Extract), on the other hand, works to create extremely pH-resistant yield points at very low application concentrations in
emulsions, sun care and color cosmetics. It is vegan, cold-processable and the RCI is also 0.95.
Sustainable vegetable oil
AlgaPūr™ HSHO algae oil (INCI: Triolein) is a very stable vegetable oil that is produced by a microalgae that converts cane sugar into triglycerides. This means the product is entirely palm oil-free. Like the oil palm, however, it boasts a similarly high yield per acre of farmland. AlgaPūr™ HSHO algae oil’s carbon footprint and water consumption are both low, and the sugar plantations are located more than 2,000 kilometers away from the Amazon rainforest.
