Bloomage Biotech expands Hyafactor™ PGA line

Nordmann partner Bloomage Biotech is adding a fourth active ingredient to its Hyafactor™-PGA range. The product line now includes Hyafactor™ PGA-SHM, a natural moisturizer that features a super-high molecular weight.

Washing hands with increased frequency, using disinfectants more often and wearing masks – the recent outbreak of COVID-19 means that our skin has to deal with several new challenges. Fortunately, Bloomage Biotech’s new COSMOS-certified skin care ingredient can help. Hyafactor™ PGA-SHM (INCI: Sodium Polyglutamate) is a natural moisturizer that supports NMF (natural moisturizing factor) levels and improves the skin barrier.

Proven efficacy

A four-week in-vivo study that was conducted using a lotion containing 0.1 percent PGA-SHM showed the following results:

  • Improved skin elasticity and roughness
  • Reduced TEWL (transepidermal water loss)
  • Noticeable anti-aging effects
  • Silky feeling of skin

Due to its high molecular weight, Hyafactor™ PGA-SHM sodium polyglutamate delivers film formation properties that actively protect the skin. It also demonstrates good synergy with hyaluronic acid by inhibiting hyaluronidase activity. This allows higher levels of hyaluronic acid to be retained in the skin.

With its nourishing effects, the new moisturizer fits in well with Bloomage Biotech’s Hyafactor™-PGA range to protect the skin against environmental influences and the special challenges brought on by the coronavirus outbreak.
