Welcome to in-cosmetics® global
in-cosmetics® global is the annual meeting place for the who’s who of the personal care industry, taking place this year from April 5-7 in Paris. Nordmann News spoke to Dr. Ulla Seidel (Global Sales Director Life Sciences at Nordmann) and Benjamin Delorme (Managing Director of Nordmann France) about their expectations for the show, as well as about trends and other news from the industry.
What do you expect as an exhibitor at in-cosmetics® global, and why do you think it is so worth visiting?
Dr. Ulla Seidel: Customers and Principals are seeking to discuss trends and new raw materials with the Nordmann team. Sustainability and performance of the single ingredient in the formulation is key for future product developments. Therefore, we at Nordmann constantly monitor latest successes on ethical and sustainable new developments and the in-cosmetics® global is an ideal platform to connect with experts in the industry.
What new products will you be presenting at the show?
Benjamin Delorme: In addition to our usual product range, we will be introducing some new materials from our partners. These can provide excellent alternatives for some of the products that have been affected recently by supply shortages.
We have a new active ingredient from Roelmi HPC, for example, as well as a new absorbent and aluminum-free powder from Ingredion. Finally, we also have a selection of trendy pearlescent pigments from Kuncai. With these new products from our partners, and by coming to the Nordmann stand K138, we’re confident that we’ll be able to work with customers to find the solutions that they are looking for.
Nordmann is also participating in the Formulation Lab. What frame formulation are you presenting there this year?
Dr. Ulla Seidel: We are presenting a cold-processed and pigment-enriched day cream. In the last two years, due to COVID-19, most meetings have been taking place online. This has led to people spending a lot more time in front of a screen for work. In the Formulation Lab, we’ll show you how to prepare and protect your skin for the digital office.
A lot has been happening at Nordmann lately. You have a new section on the Nordmann website: the Nordmann Lab+. What exactly is this?
Dr. Ulla Seidel: Virtual insights, comprehensive information on formulations, applications and trends from the personal care sector: that’s what the new Nordmann Lab+ offers customers and suppliers. It’s where visitors can dive deeper into the world of cosmetic formulations and applications from our laboratory in Germany and at Nordmann Nordic. You can find us at: lab.nordmann.global.
How do you gauge the current potential and also the challenges now for the personal care industry?
Benjamin Delorme: The cosmetics industry is moving towards more sustainable, natural ingredients and this is an opportunity for us to thrive in a very competitive market with our innovative partners. Our customers export a lot – especially to China, where the market is expanding very quickly. I think that with the professionalism and dynamism of the Nordmann team, the two laboratories at Nordmann’s disposal and our ability to find logistical solutions, we will be able to answer the challenges that await us and sustainably support the growth of our customers.
