Nordmann Kompakt: Winter care
In winter, skin is put under extra stress and strain because of the cold and the dehydrating effects of indoor heating.
We’ll introduce you to the kind of raw materials and formulations that can help protect and care for your skin in the cold winter months.
Changing extremes
Just like our skin, hair also is forced to deal with the changing extremes of indoor heating and freezing outdoor temperatures during winter. This is when it’s important to use mild shampoos and to remember that what works great in summertime can be awful when temperatures turn cold. Especially when it’s worn down, hair can get electrically charged and frizzy by rubbing against wool sweaters, coat collars and scarves during the winter season.
How to take care of your hair in winter
This is the right way to do it:
- wash hair with lukewarm water
- use hair treatments/masks/oils
- do not go outside with wet hair
For emergency care: use rinse-off and leave-in conditioner! Look for moisturizing ingredients like shea butter, panthenol or silk protein and wear your hair in a style that will help prevent frizz.
