Sunhancer™ Eco SPF Booster protects from the sun, respects the planet
High demands are placed on sunscreens nowadays. Not only do consumers want them to look good and provide an extension to skin care and make-up, but they should also have a light, non-greasy feel on the skin. In addition, sunscreen products should align with the values of sustainability and biodegradability that are important in today’s world. Nordmann partner Lubrizol has the answer: the company’s new Sunhancer™ Eco SPF Booster (INCI: Copernicia Copernicia Cerifera [Carnauba] Wax [and] Oryza Sativa [Rice] Bran Wax).
Protection from the sun
The innovative new skincare booster from Lubrizol contains micronized particles that increase the SPF (sun protection factor) of sunscreen formulations and which consist of a blend of naturally derived and sustainably sourced waxes. For formulators, the advantages are clear: the booster allows them to reduce the amount of UV filter ingredients in their formulations and at the same time achieve the same level of sun protection as conventional, UV filter-based formulations.
Respect for the planet
Lubrizol’s new Sunhancer™ Eco SPF Booster consists of two ingredients that have been blended together, both coming from sustainable sources. Oryza Sativa Bran wax is a by-product of rice bran oil production. Rice bran itself is a virtually unlimited, almost 100% renewable source of wax. Copernicia Cerifera wax, also known as carnauba wax, is obtained from the leaves of the Brazilian tree of the same name.
The booster has also been certified by COSMOS, which accredits natural and organic cosmetics for consumers.
The outstanding efficacy of Lubrizol’s Sunhancer™ Eco SPF Booster was demonstrated in an in-vivo study (see results below).
